Josh Wilson - I Refuse

I don't know about you but most of the time I am pretty self-centered. I think about me. I think about my needs and desires. I think about food...for me. I think about clothes...for me. I think about new tires for...my car. I think about fixing up...my house. Me, me, me. Sometimes I think about someone else...my family. My wife. My 3 kids. My parents. My brother or sister. Again, me, me, me.

When do I step out and help someone else? Someone who can't repay me. Someone who is really in need. I believe that the Gospel should compel us to step out on faith and serve our fellow man. We should feel a strong desire to put our faith into action. To show the love of Christ.
James 2 instructs us in this way,

"What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds."

As our small group at my church is working through the ideas in David Platt's 'Radical Together' I found that this video fits our study very well indeed and wanted to share it with them as well as all my students in class. I hope it also blesses you today.
