Lay 'Em Down

Many times in life when we start a new project, move to a new town, start junior high, join a team, etc. we have all these anxieties and fears that sometimes go unnoticed and other times seem to wreck our day. 6th grade is a big time for a lot of folks because for most of you middle school or junior high begins and that brings with it a lot of stress and worry. I was a new student in 6th grade to my school and I didn't know a soul. I had to start all over with friends, which is your whole life when you're 11 or 12, and with that starting over came stress, anxiety, worry. I made the most of it though and began some really good friendships that lasted through high school.

The Bible has a few things to say about worry, anxiety and fear.
In Psalms 55:22 (from The Message), “Pile your troubles on God’s shoulders- he’ll carry your load, he’ll help you out.”
1 Peter 5:7 (in the NLT), “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

This song/video reminds us we are helpless and broken and we all have a history that is not flawless and we need to bring our burdens and troubles to our Father and lay 'em down. That's where we find freedom to really live.
