MLK Day

Growing up in the 80s, U2 was my favorite band. It helped that I had older siblings that I could mooch off of. Not all of their music was what I call quality (i.e. Erasure, Depeche Mode, B-52s, Asia, Tiffany, Bananarama, UB40, etc.). But there were quite a few bands that I got a jump start on because I was the youngest. I not only got hand-me-down clothes (not as much fun as it sounds) but also I got hand-me-down music. Bands like Journey, Bruce Springsteen, Wynton Marsalis, Harry Connick Jr., Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bryan Adams, Genesis, Huey Lewis, Tommy Petty, etc. But my favorite was always U2.

Here's is U2's tribute to the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Followed by one of the greatest speeches of all time.
