The title of this post might be longer than the post itself but I had the 'opportunity' to spend 5 hours in the car by myself, twice, over Thanksgiving break this year in between my home in GA and my in-laws in NC. With that 'extra' time I got to just listen to whatever I wanted and I could listen to it as loud as I wanted!
For one of those trips I actually listed to the audio version of Francis Chan's Crazy Love which I would highly recommend and it was my second time to listen to it. It can change your life and it will challenge your faith (are you living out the faith that you profess to be true?)
My second trip back up to get my family in NC I listened to a whole array of music. I have a large music collection and was able to just pick and choose what I wanted to listen to. If memory serves me I listened to several albums in their entirety. David Crowder* Band's Church Music, Chris Tomlin's and if our God is for us..., Dave Brubeck Quartet's Time Out (which is a classic), Lecrae's Rehab and finally Arcade Fire's The Suburbs. I would recommend all of these, by the way, to any music lover.
Three songs really stood out from the rest and I pretty much turned the dial up to 11 and sang my lungs out.
1) Our God - Chris Tomlin - which I'm sure you've heard. Simply awesome song.
2) Always - Kristian Stanfill - my newest favorite worship song - great song live
3) None Compares - David Crowder* Band - I could listen to this song over and over as loud as my speakers could handle it and after I was done, I'd listen to it again. That's how much I absolutely LOVE this song. What an amazing album too.
So that's my list. What would be on yours?
