No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
As I thought about what this song really means I kept going back to what God has promised us in His word. This song talks specifically about not being given so much that we can't handle it. Whatever 'it' is. God will always be with us and anytime we need Him He's ready to take over. But again, I kept thinking about what He has promised.
Here are some of my favorite promises from God.
1. I am the Lord your God and I never change. (Malachi 3:6)
2. I created you in My own image with My special blessing. (Genesis 1:27-28)
3. I have given you eternal life because you have believed in Jesus Christ. (John 3:16)
4. If you search for Me with all your heart, you will find me. (Jeremiah 29:13)
5. Cast all your worries on Me, for I really care about you. (1 Peter 5:7)
6. You are holy and free from blame because of Jesus Christ's death. (Colossians 1:21-22)
7. I am your shelter and a place of safety from your enemies. (Psalm 61:3)
