DC*B w/o DC?

Yes, the David Crowder* Band without David Crowder is moving on. Well at least 4 of the former members of the band are. They are calling themselves the Digital Age. And they are fantastic. I can't wait to see what they do. Here's a preview of what's to come. Kind of sort of reminds me of Explosions in the Sky mixed with DC*B. It's just wonderful. Take a look/listen for yourself!

How He Loves

This is absolutely one of my favorite songs over the last couple years performed by one of my all-time favorite Christian bands (David Crowder* Band) and it's near the top of my list of videos I wanted to share with my classes this year. Well, after coming back from the high school spiritual retreat on Tuesday, I was consumed by God's love for me and His people. I got on Spotify and made a playlist of my favorite songs that I learned (or knew already) from the retreat and listened to them over and over and over again. This is not new to me but it was one that we song that brings tears to my eyes and goose bumps to my skin.


So as I was thinking about God's love, this passage popped out to me and it's one we covered at the retreat at some point. Again, it's simply about God's lavish love for you and me. And so I connected these two right away (the scripture and the video).


Ephesians 3:14ff says, "For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."

How He Loves

David Crowder is THE MAN in my opinion. I love his music. The latest album, Church Music, is just incredible. I was not disappointed at all when I first heard it. In fact, I think this is their best work to date. They have quite a collection of excellent songs too. 

This song will bring tears to your eyes. Please listen, listen, listen to what he's singing and also the passion with which he sings. I love the concept of the video as well. Hilarious. And the ending. So cool!!!
